GHG Emission Monitoring Resources

Useful educational content for scope-wise emissions tracking, activity data preparation, energy monitoring, and system-generated reports.

What is Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3?

Scope 1 covers direct emissions from owned or controlled sources. Scope 2 covers purchased energy such as electricity, heat, steam and cooling. Scope 3 covers selected indirect activities such as travel, waste, water, freight, materials, food and commuting where configured in the tool.

Why energy monitoring matters

Energy data is often one of the clearest operational inputs for emissions review. Monitoring electricity, heat, steam and cooling helps organisations identify high-contribution areas and review reduction planning opportunities.

What activity data is required?

Activity data may include fuel quantities, electricity consumption, refrigerant releases, vehicle distance, freight movement, water usage, waste disposal, business travel, hotel nights and other configured inputs. Calculation quality depends on the accuracy and completeness of these inputs.

How system-generated reports help management review

System-generated reports keep scope totals, category breakdowns, methodology notes and validation status in one consistent format. This supports internal review, stakeholder discussions and audit-support preparation.
